PURCHASE PROCESS
Warrior's is a family-based kennel where the dogs are born and raised in an active home environment. Breeding is infrequent, so a waitlist is not maintained.
1. Application Form: To begin the process, interested individuals or families are required to fill out our Application Form. This form helps us understand your preferences, living situation, and what you're looking for in a Whippet. It also allows us to ensure that our puppies are placed in loving and suitable homes. We accept applications for both Companion and Show homes. We also refer to reputable breeders we know, like and trust. We highly suggest for the interested parties to arrange meetups to meet the breeds before moving forward with an application. The breeder reserves the final authority over placements.
2. Review and Approval: Once we receive your Application Form, we will carefully review it. We may reach out to you for additional screening information or to clarify any details. This step helps us match the right puppy to the right home, ensuring a happy and harmonious companionship.
3. Reservation Fee: After your application is approved, we require a $500 Reservation Fee that will go toward the final purchase price. The Reservation Fee does not guarantee you a puppy but puts you in line for puppies as they are available. If a puppy is not chosen from this litter, your payment is refunded.
4. Keeping you updated: We will post photos on our website and private Facebook Group page (Warrior's Whippets & Silken Windhounds) or send progress photos to you via email once they are born. Puppies are socialized with cats, other dogs within the household, children and adults, trained to a litterbox, have weekly nail trims with a grinder, and will be started on crate and leash exposure. Each puppy's health and temperament are monitored, and matches are made according to the potential owner's lifestyle.
5. Puppy Selection: We will not promise specific puppies until they at least 8 weeks old and have been evaluated by the breeder for structure, movement and temperament. At that time, we will begin discussions as to which puppies will fit best for your family based on your application, preferences and the personalities of the puppies. Our puppies will have been evaluated for temperament and structure to help ensure the best fit.
6. Puppies Go Home: Puppies are typically placed in their new chosen homes at 10-12 weeks of age and after receiving age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal test, microchipping and a general wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian. Pick up can be arranged in-person as well as potential transport. Our puppies are never sent off with anyone who is not heavily vetted and trusted by us. We prefer you come to us. New owners will receive lifetime guidance on feeding, care, training and FAQs.
